'Premature' To Determine Whether Luke Walton Could Coach All-Star Game

Dec 11, 2015 8:40 PM

Steve Kerr is ineligible to coach in the All-Star Game since he was the Western Conference head coach last season.

NBA rules prevent the same coach from serving in consecutive years.

But the Golden State Warriors have the best record in the West and have been led by Luke Walton on an interim basis.

League spokesman Tim Frank says it's "premature" to address whether Walton could serve in the role if Steve Kerr hasn't returned from back surgery.

Frank says: "At this point, it is unclear when coach Kerr will return to the sidelines. We are more than two months away from All-Star, so it feels premature to address that situation."

2016 All-Star Uniforms Released (Images)

Dec 3, 2015 12:29 PM

The NBA has released images of their uniforms for the 65th All-Star Game, which will be played on Feb. 14th in Toronto.

The uniforms incorporate elements indigenous to Canada and pay homage to Toronto's NBA history, passionate basketball fans and cosmopolitan energy.

The uniforms are also ad supported by Kia.

"This is the first NBA All-Star Game to be played outside the United States, and it is a very exciting time for basketball in Canada," said Chris Grancio, adidas global basketball general manager. "To honor this global celebration and pay tribute to Toronto -- the site of the NBA's first game -- we've incorporated design elements that are inspired by the city's basketball history, sports culture and unique fashion scene to make an All-Star collection that players and fans will love."
